Laura Fortin Placenta Encapsulation Specialist
I am a (now partially) homeschooling mother to two biological daughters and one step-daughter, ages 12, 10, and 8 and have been interested in holistic health for many years--a personal
and professional journey which includes certifications in Holistic Health Coaching (CHHC, AADP), Yoga (YTT-200), Reiki I and II, AromaTouch Technique for essential oil application, and Placenta Encapsulation.
I had my first experience with placenta encapsulation in 2008 when I prepared my niece's placenta for my sister. At the same time as I was learning about making placenta pills, I also discovered the possibility of providing this unique service in my community and became New England's first (and for years, the only) PBi-Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist (PES)--one of my clients even became a placenta encapsulator herself! I've also had the privilege of serving other local birth-workers, which has helped spread this practice throughout the area.
As a PBi-trained PES, I am held to a high standard of practice, following EPA/OSHA guidelines, and maintaining both safe food handling and blood-borne pathogens certifications. I take great care in preparing your placenta in a very neat and efficient manner, with minimal waste, and I will always leave your kitchen cleaner than I found it!
I have experienced first-hand, after both full-term childbirth and miscarriage, how placenta preparations support and balance the healing process, and I am pleased to be able to bring the benefits to so many others. Since beginning this work, I have served over 500 families--many of them multiple times--from all over Massachusetts, Southern Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and New York.
It is my privilege to be part of your growing family's support team!
